The Centre of competence for plastics recycling from Interseroh Plastics Research & Development in Maribor is a branch of the international ALBA Group, which employs over 8000 people in Germany, Europe and Asia. The company has been operating in Slovenia since 2016 and has become an internationally recognized research and innovation centre. Based on many years of research and development, the centre has developed the so-called Recycled-Resource process, which enables Up-Cycling processing of plastic waste from households.

The centre of competence in Maribor has five laboratories equipped with the most advanced process and analytical equipment. Material analyses are carried out by experts according to international standards and proven internal methods. In addition, the experts monitor the quality and compliance and conformity of materials with REACH and EU directives.

In march 2020, the centre of competence received international accreditation to the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory standard, making it the only accredited research facility in Europe specializing in research and development in the field of recycling and processing of plastic waste. Through high quality standards, consistent, transparent and comprehensive management of technical requirements, the laboratories of the centre of competence meet all professional requirements to ensure the highest quality in the field of analytics for the development of recycling methods.
