Since 1860, glassware manufacturer Steklarna Hrastnik has been a renowned global business partner in the development and production of high-quality special glass packaging in the highest quality segment for beverages, perfumery and cosmetics. They manufacture the most technically sophisticated products from one of the purest glasses in the world. They offer a complete range of services in one place - from the idea, design, development, production of glass products, graphic design for decoration and implementation of decoration as well as logistics service.

The concept of sustainable resource management is one of the cornerstones of Steklarna Hrastnik's business strategy. For the company, this means protecting the environment, taking care of its employees and the local community in which it operates - while increasing economic efficiency. Energy and production efficiency as well as economic use are prerequisites for introducing the basics of a circular economy.

Even after the transition to Industry 4.0, the company continues its efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce its environmental footprint by implementing a number of innovative projects and improving production technologies. The continuous investments in innovative solutions are aimed at, among other things, making the best use of waste heat energy, replacing fossil fuels with environmentally friendly alternatives and improving the energy efficiency of melting furnaces. In 2018, Steklarna Hrastnik reduced energy consumption per tonne of melted glass by 10%, CO2 emissions by 6% and NOx emissions per tonne of melted glass by 40%, using 50% less water than in 2017. They are therefore forward-looking and place great emphasis on environmental orientation, a higher quality of life and social responsibility in all its forms.
